Sweet
Dreams
The overlooked history of Husker hoops, the remarkable life of Fred Hoiberg, and the behind-the-scenes story of Nebraska's epic 2025-26 season — all in one hardcover.
The essential Nebraska basketball book.
Dirk Chatelain, five-time Nebraska Sportswriter of the Year and author of 24th & Glory, delivers the essential Nebraska basketball book, capturing 70-plus years of program turning points and the elusive quest for postseason triumph.
Chatelain takes readers through the eras that built such a devoted fan base. Joe Cipriano. Danny Nee. Tim Miles.
But the core of the book is Hoiberg's personal story. His remarkable family history. His folk-hero childhood in Ames. His network of NBA legends. The heart condition that ended his playing career. His fast track to head coaching. The seven straight losing seasons that threatened his basketball legacy. And the Husker turnaround spearheaded by his own son.
Sam Hoiberg isn't the only star of the story. The book features extensive profiles of Pryce Sandfort, Rienk Mast, Nate Loenser and Kent Pavelka, all of whom experienced their own comeback stories.
250 pages of stories, interviews and unforgettable images.
The narrative is based on 100-plus hours of interviews with the most important names in Husker hoops. But storytelling isn't all.
The book also features hundreds of incredible images documenting Husker hoops history, including dozens from Oklahoma City.
A 10×10 hardcover made for the coffee table or bookshelf, it's the perfect gift for the holidays. Shipped straight to your home in November.
